Business Development Manager


The role

Drive growth through innovation, logistics solutions & strategic partnerships

As Business Development Manager, your mission is to accelerate revenue and margin growth by developing new services, logistical concepts, and strategic partnerships across the European horticultural supply chain.

  • Identify and develop innovative logistics solutions and services in close collaboration with key stake holders like growers, wholesalers, retailers, and logistics service providers.
  • Design tailored value propositions within the existing service portfolio to meet the needs of specific market segments.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to uncover new growth opportunities.
  • Act as project lead: coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Marketing to prepare and implement new services.
  • Develop contract models and pricing strategies; lead negotiations and secure agreements.
  • Represent CC at relevant trade fairs, conferences, and industry events.
  • Report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and work closely with the Change Team.


Your profile

A strategic thinker and entrepreneur at heart, with a deep understanding of logistics in horticulture, retail or other relevant sectors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Horticulture, (Agro)Logistics, or related fields.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Project Management, or Packaging Management within horticulture, logistics, or retail.
  • Strong affinity with supply chain, pooling systems, transport logistics, or reverse logistics.
  • Proven track record in leading complex projects, change management, and contract negotiation.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages such as German are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe.
